Five temporary waste disposal sites to open from Saturday to help get rid of Christmas rubbish

Coventry Editorial 5th Jan, 2023   0

FIVE temporary waste disposal sites have been opened over the next few weeks to help Coventrians get rid of extra rubbish and recycling they have built up over Christmas and new year.

There will be pop-up disposal points at Willenhall Social Club and Hearsall Common, as well as car parks in Cheylesmore, Alderman’s Green and Telfer Road.

The sites will open between 8am and 4.30pm this Saturday and Sunday, January 7 and 8.

They will reopen at the same times over the next two weekends with the last opening day being Sunday, January 22.

Residents do not need to book to use any of the sites, however bulky items will not be accepted and will need to be taken to the Household Waste and Recycling Centre on London Road.

These pop-up points will be provided as well as regular household and recycling collections which will be completed as scheduled.

Garden waste collections are currently paused and restart on January 17.
