COVENTRY Transport Museum is getting in the festive spirit with tickets now available for its Vintage Sleigh Ride.
Last year’s sleigh ride was a sell-out, with over 3,000 children visiting the sleigh in 14 days last December.
The attraction is believed to be the only vintage motorised sleigh ride in the UK and will be open on selected dates between December 3 and December 23.
A dedicated SEN session will be available on December 2.
There will also be a brand new family-friendly experience featuring sleigh-inspired activities across the galleries including festive trails.
And visitors will get the chance to meet Father Christmas as well as get a gift from the Elves toy shop.
The sleigh ride was a fixture at the Heart of England Co-Op on Corporation Street for 59 years, and it was rehoused at the Transport Museum after a campaign was launched to save it following the store’s closure in 2015.
Stephen Spencer, Venue Manager at Coventry Transport Museum, said: “For many parents and grandparents, the vintage sleigh ride brings back happy childhood memories; while for children it’s a really magical experience.
“Last year it was great to reopen following the pandemic and we had some lovely feedback on the return of the ride.
“It will include a fun, interactive sleigh adventure taking children and grown-ups on a fascinating journey of exploration and discovery around the museum.
Entry is £11 per child plus two accompanying adults.
