A FLY-TIPPER has been fined thanks to a sharp-eyed resident who helped to track them down.
The eagle-eyed person caught someone acting suspiciously before dumping rubbish in an alleyway between Brays Lane and Harefield Road.
Coventry City Council was alerted, meaning officers were able to get to the site quickly and go through the waste for any evidence.
They found the name and address of a Coventry resident among the household rubbish, and a fly-tipping allegation letter was sent out after officers carried out council tax checks to ensure the person still lived at the address.
No reply was sent, leading to officers visiting the home and sending a further notice.
The person eventually made contact and admitted to what they had done when presented with the evidence.
They were issued with a fixed penalty notice for fly-tipping and were ordered to pay £200 or be taken to court.
