FOLK ROCKERS Levellers have been announced as Friday night main stage headliners at this year’s Godiva Festival.

The famous Brighton-born band have recently celebrated 30 years together and their long career has brought them plenty of success over 11 studio albums.

From their 1995 number one album ‘Zeitgeist’, to 14 top 40 singles and spending 38 weeks in the Top 100 for their critically acclaimed classic album ‘Levelling The Land’, the band can now soon add the Godiva Festival to their long list of festival performances.

Director of business, investment and culture Andy Williams said: “It’s wonderful to be able to announce our Friday night headliners and I’m sure lots of people will be planning their trips to the festival this summer already.

“Our aim with Godiva has always been to bring a variety of musical styles and performers to the festival and Levellers will continue that theme, and with their reputation as a fantastic live act, I’m sure they will deliver a great show.

“We’ve got plenty more announcements to come, including our Saturday night headliner, Rock Tent lineup, Rhythm Tent and much more, so watch this space!”

The Festival recently confirmed that Busted will headline its Sunday main stage, and more announcements are set to follow over the coming weeks.

Last year, the Godiva Festival attracted 115,000 festival-goers through its gates to see acts such as Jake Bugg, Editors, Professor Green, Jonas Blue, Asian Dub Foundation and Cradle of Filth.

The festival will once again take place in the War Memorial Park and attendees can see everything the festival has to offer in addition to live music including comedy, family attractions and local history over the weekend of July 5 to 7.
