ONE of the spires that dominates Coventry city centre’s skyline is on the market to attract a new business after being made available to let.

The medieval Christchurch Spire is on the market with commercial property specialists Holt Commercial.

The firm claims it is already attracting interest from pub and bar operators.

It was in recent years a popular bar called Inspire, fashionable as a music venue with young people.

The famous spire is situated on the corner of New Union Street and Warwick Row next to The Wave, the new water attraction that recently opened in Coventry.

The agent says the venue includes basic kitchen facilities as well as bar and seating areas, and would require a fresh fit out from any new occupier interested in taking it on for UK City of Culture year 2021.

Chris Hobday, Associate at Holt Commercial, said: “Coventry’s skyline is famous for its spires and this is a very rare opportunity to occupy one of those with a new bar or pub operation.

“There is potential for a change of use but we’ve had such strong interest for its present use that a deal could and should be done relatively quickly.

“With the history of the building, the location and Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture fast approaching, this is a great opportunity to open a unique and quirky new venue for the city centre.”
