FOUR COVENTRIANS have been arrested, with one appearing in court yesterday, over the murder of a Foleshill man.
Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the murder, while one man appeared at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday (March 11) charged with the murder of Arunasalam Arunothayan.
The 48-year-old Sri Lankan national was admitted to hospital in the early hours of Thursday, March 5 after being assaulted at his Foleshill Road home the previous day, and died later that morning – a post mortem revealing he had died from an assault.
Kirithas Sriskantharajah, 34 from Church Way in Bedworth, appeared before Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday, March 11 charged with his murder and will next appear in court for a Plea and Case Management Hearing on May 27.
The 20-year-old woman arrested last week has since been released on police bail, while a 39-year-old man from Holbrooks, who was arrested on suspicion of murder on March 9, has also been bailed while enquiries continue.
At the time of going to press, a 31-year-old man remains in police custody having been arrested on Tuesday, March 10 on suspicion of murder after attending a local police station.
