Free workshop to help Coventry and Warwickshire's small businesses post-pandemic

Coventry Editorial 4th Mar, 2022   0

A FREE post-pandemic workshop for small businesses across Coventry and Warwickshire will be held on Sunday, March 6.

Experts from the University of Warwick Business School will kickstart the arts and culture Resonate Festival with the ‘Negotiate Your Way To Success’ event at the Telegraph Hotel.

The three-hour workshop is aimed at helping attendees understand the psychology of negotiation in business and everyday life.

Business people from across Coventry and Warwickshire are invited to sign up to develop, enhance and optimise their negotiation skills.

It will be led by Prof Thomas Hills, a behaviour scientist in the university’s Department of Psychology, and Daniel Read, Professor of behavioural economics at Warwick Business School.

The two professors will share their knowledge on a number of business-related subjects, including how to deliver more competitive deals, developing confidence in walking away from the wrong deals and identifying the difference between selling and negotiation.

Resonate festival director Professor Helen Wheatley said: “We are delighted Warwick Business School is sharing their expertise with local businesses on how to thrive and not just to survive after a difficult two years during a global pandemic.

“It will also be a brilliant opportunity to connect and network with other SMEs from across the region in person over some food and drink.”

The University of Warwick has arranged the workshop to tie in with the last few months of Coventry’s year-long run as UK City of Culture.

Celebrating the power of creativity, conversation and connection, the Resonate Festival started in May 2021.

A 12-month programme of inspiring, interactive and free events was designed for all ages across Coventry and Warwickshire to spark ideas, curiosity and imagination.

The festival will culminate in a grand finale – Resonate 2022 – three-days of live events and activities on the University of Warwick campus from April 19 to 21.

Encompassing the arts, sciences and humanities, there will be performances, talks and public conversations, exhibitions, film festivals, walking tours, activities and so much more to generate a diverse festival for the creative and the curious across all local communities.
