A FUND-RAISING page set up to help the family of a 12-year-old Coventry boy who was killed in a hit and run has already raised almost £16,000.

The incident happened yesterday (Friday) around 4.30pm on Radford Road which led to Keaton Slater losing his life. The BMW involved failed to stop but police later seized it. The driver is still being hunted by police.

The organiser of the fundraising page said: “NO parent should ever have to deal with the trauma of losing a child so young.

“Keaton’s family have been told about this JustGiving page and are very grateful that it is being done as they try and deal with what has happened.

This fundraiser will help the parents and family with funeral expenses and any other living costs.

“Doing this it will give them time to begin to process and mourn the loss of their son / brother without having the extra burden of worrying about paying for a funeral, and going to work.”

All cash will go directly to the parents.

The money raised can be used by the family however they decide to do so, this could be towards funeral costs or any other financial help the family may need like household bills or allow them to take time off work or even pay for specialist counselling.

Keaton’s dad posted a tribute on Facebook to his son: “He was my mini me he was the light and soul of our little family

“We can’t believe that this has happened still expecting him to come barging in the room like the life of the fun he was

“I’m so broken right now

“RIP my youngest boy.”
