A GANG of four youths has been arrested in connection with a violent robbery in Coventry – including threats made with nunchucks.
The incident took place this week at the recreation ground in Ansty Road, Stoke, after several calls reported suspicious behaviour.
The boys, three aged 14 and one 16, allegedly approached a 19-year-old man and threatened him with nunchucks – a martial arts weapon.
The victim’s friend was assaulted and the group stole his jewellery, police say.
A Coventry Police spokesperson said: “Four youths were arrested this week for two robberies in Coventry at the recreation ground in Ansty Road, Stoke after we received several calls from concerned members of the public.
“We were called to the park just after 7pm on Tuesday (September 4) where four boys approached a 19-year-old man and demanded his belongings, before producing a nunchuck and attempting to strike him with it.
“His 18-year-old friend was punched in the face by the group, before they made off with some of his jewellery.
“We made the arrests after finding the group in surrounding roads.
“Three boys, aged 14, and another, aged 16, have all been bailed with conditions. Thanks to everyone that helped us.”
