A SIX-METRE giant Godiva puppet created for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad is heading to Coventry’s biggest festival for the first time this summer.
The puppet will be making its way to the city as part of the Godiva festival, which will be taking place between June 30 and July 2.
Godiva will be brought to the city by Imagineer and will be welcoming guests to the war memorial park throughout the festival weekend.
As well as the Godiva puppet, the annual festival will feature live music including The Enemy, Rudimental and Melanie C.
The festival will also be celebrating 2-Tone, which originated from Coventry, with acts including the city’s iconic The Selecter performing.
Imagineers Godiva puppet visited London last year as part of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Coventry city council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for events, Coun Abdul Salam Khan, said: “This year’s festival is going to be bigger than ever, and the crowd will be greeted by the iconic Godiva puppet for the first time.
“It will be fantastic to see this symbol of Coventry brought to life at this year’s event.”
