COMMUNITY groups in Coventry have the opportunity to receive grant funding to deliver creative projects and events.
Organisations interested have until March 29 to apply for up to £8,000 to deliver the projects or events in collaboration with the historic city attraction, St Mary’s Guildhall.
In the initial round of awards, the 14th-century venue partnered with five community groups, facilitating events which brought together numerous visitors.
Applications for the second round of Tier 1 grants, allowing organisations to apply for between £2,000 and £8,000, will be accepted from February 19 to March 29.
Tier 2 offers grants of between £250 and £1,999 and can also be submitted until March 29.
The scheme is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and delivered in partnership with Coventry City Council.
The program aims to engage more people in heritage, arts, culture, and community activities hosted at or inspired by the 14th-century guildhall, following its reopening in 2022 after a £6 million renovation.
Coun David Welsh, cabinet member for housing and communities at Coventry city council, highlighted the success of previous events and expressed optimism for the future.
“The Guildhall is a really impressive venue, so this is a great opportunity for local groups to apply for funding to support the delivery of a wide range of heritage projects, helping to bring the venue to life for new audiences.”
