Gunshots fired at car in Coventry street

Coventry Editorial 7th Jun, 2021   0

POLICE are investigating after a car was shot at in a Coventry street.

A vehicle pulled up in Raphael Close, Whoberley, and the gunshots were aimed towards an Audi at around 10.30pm on Thursday.

No-one was present with the Audi when officers from West Midlands Police arrived although information they received afterwards suggests someone may have been injured but fled with other occupants.

Police carried out checks but nobody appears to have attendedĀ  hospital with gunshot injuries at this stage.

Officers are in the early stages of their investigation as they seek to establish who was responsible for potentially putting lives at risk.

Enquiries have been carried out in the area and police are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Damage was caused to the Audi and the car is being forensically assessed.

Police are particularly keen for anyone who was travelling through and may have dash cam footage of a car arriving or leaving Raphael Close or the surrounding area around the time.

Information can be given via live chat at west-midlands.police.uk or by calling 101.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
