Have your say on updated Binley Cycleway plans

Coventry Editorial 10th Jul, 2023 Updated: 10th Jul, 2023   0

COVENTRIANS will be able to have their say on changes to proposals for a stretch of Binley Cycleway along Clifford Bridge Road.

A consultation drop-in session was held in January about the section of the cycleway.

Changes to the original plans include introducing some sections of shared-use paths for people and cyclists, with other parts being fully segregated.

A small section of the road will change in width close to numbers 120 and 122 Clifford Bridge Road to protect two mature trees, with the rest staying the same.

The visibility from side roads will be improved, there will be fewer alterations to current parking arrangements and there is more trees and greenery planned to be planted than before.

An hour-long meeting will be held at Wyken Community Centre on Thursday, July 13 from 7pm for people to take a more detailed look at the new design.

A second drop-in session will be held at the community centre on Thursday, July 20 between 2pm and 8pm.

The council also would like to use this meeting to hear people’s opinions on the location of extra pedestrian crossings to complement the cycleway plans.

A survey is available for people to complete between now and Sunday, July 30.
