HILL Group has been named by Shearer Property Group as its development and funding partner for a £450million regeneration scheme in Coventry City Centre.
The two firms will now work on the city centre plans, with Shearer forming Shearer Property Regen (SPR) to deliver the project.
The regeneration was granted outline planning permission last year and will see several city centre buildings be demolished, that will be replaced by around 1,300 homes.
There will also be a new hotel, cinema and shops along with restaurants and community spaces.
Hill and Shearer will work with Coventry City Council to submit several detailed planning applications, and Allies & Morrison have been chosen as the project’s architects.
Andy Hill, group chief executive of The Hill Group said that the firms’ experience will allow them to provide an “inspirational destination that appeals to residents and visitors alike.”
Guy Shearer of Shearer added that they were delighted to be working with an organisation with a “complementary skill set” to theirs.
