COVENTRIANS will be getting in a right royal mood as they can now submit street party applications for the King’s coronation weekend.
Residents can apply for a free street party licence to mark the occasion, being able to select one day over the bank holiday weekend- either May 6, 7 or 8 – to hold an event.
Coventry City Council deputy leader Coun Abdul Salam Khan said the authority was delighted to give people the opportunity to hold street parties following the success of events for last year’s Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
“It’s a significant occasion so we will also be hosting other events and activities across the city which residents will soon hear more about.”
People will have until Thursday, April 6 to apply for a licence.
