COVENTRY residents are being asked to thank their ‘Dementia Heroes’ by nominating them for an award.
This year’s awards will be recognising people and organisations from the area who have gone above and beyond to help people affected by dementia.
Heroes will have made an effort to meaningfully involve those with dementia in activities and projects that make a real difference in their lives.
There are nine categories overall including campaigns and influencing, care and compassion, those who care for people with dementia as well as an outstanding achievement award, with each category judged by a panel.
Over 3,800 people living in Coventry currently have dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Society Coventry Area Manager, Janice Le Tellier said: “In Coventry, it’s vital we join forces to improve the lives of people affected by dementia, now and in the future.
“Facing dementia, we are always better together”.
Nominations for the awards close on Friday, November 18.
