GLOBAL sports clothing brand Hummel UK has been confirmed as the official apparel sponsor for Team Coventry when they host the 2022 International Children’s Games (ICG).

The Games are set to attract more than 1,500 future stars from 73 cities in 33 countries next month.

The company will also give out commemorative branded Games T-shirts to officials, volunteers and participants.

Team Coventry will be kitted out in Hummel UK gear tailored to each of the seven sports, along with team tracksuits, sports bags and caps.

Team Coventry will enter its biggest ever Games team, with 85 athletes representing the city.

Coventry City Council deputy leader and chair of the International Children’s Games Stakeholder Board, Coun Abdul Salam Khan said: “What a fantastic partnership we have created for the International Children’s Games.

“The team are going to feel one million dollars in their kit and I look forward to seeing our athletes representing Team Coventry across each of the seven sports.”

James Golden, Head of Teamsport Hummel UK and Ireland, added: “We feel this partnership is a perfect fit for Hummel UK whose mission is to change the world through sport.”

The ICG started in 1968 and 12 to 15-year-olds compete in track and field events. This year’s tournament will run from August 11 to 16, with Coventry previously hosting the games in 2005.
