Indie band The Hoosiers to play in Coventry

Coventry Editorial 21st Jul, 2017   0

Indie-pop band The Hoosiers will celebrate ten years since the release of their hit debut album when they perform in Coventry later this year.
The show will see the band perform ‘The Trick of Life’ in its entirety at the Kasbah on Saturday, October 7.
Their multi-platinum debut effort hit the top spot on the UK Albums Chart in 2007 and has sold more than 600,000 copies in the UK since it was released.
Indie anthems ‘Goodbye Mr A’ and ‘Worried about Ray’ featured on the album, both of which reached the top five in the singles chart and are still regulars on indie club playlists a decade later.
The tour will give fans the opportunity to see the ‘The Trick of Life’ played live on stage in full for the first ever time.
Irwin Sparks and Alan Sharland are the only two remaining members of the four who saw huge success with the band in the noughties.
Both attended the University of Indianapolis, where they adopted the name The Hoosiers – a colloquial term for citizens of Indiana.
The Hoosiers have gone on to release two more albums since 2007, with their sophomore effort ‘The Illusion of Safety’ reaching the UK top ten in 2010.
The shows will coincide with the release of the ‘The Trick of Life’ on limited edition vinyl, which will be on sale at venues throughout the huge 28 date tour.
Amarjit Kullar, of the Kasbah, said: “The Hoosiers played a huge part in building the indiepop scene throughout the noughties and to hear them play their debut album in full will be a real treat for fans.
“They have had huge success over the years, playing on stages all over the world and building up a huge fan following.
“We are always excited to welcome fans of rock and indie music, we have a rich history of supporting indie music at the Kasbah and we’re expecting a crazy night in October.
“We’re hoping to welcome a huge crowd for this, it’s a great chance to see some iconic indie anthems live and we can’t wait to welcome The Hoosiers to the venue.”
Advanced tickets to see The Hoosiers on Saturday, October 7 at the Kasbah are now on sale.
Tickets cost £6 and are available at www.kasbahnightclub.com and www.seetickets.com
