Industry experts lined up to speak at Coventry Cathedral mindfulness event

LEADING experts from the field of mindfulness have been lined up to speak at an international event taking place in Coventry.

Coventry Cathedral will stage ‘Mindfulness and Spiritual Intelligence 2017’ on Saturday, October 14, between 6pm and 9pm.

The annual celebration of the field has been organised by the Flame Centre, a mindfulness, holistic, and wellness centry based in City Arcade.

It will be the fifth consecutive year the event has been held at the cathedral, with this year’s theme exploring the process of spiritual intelligence with mindfulness as well as the growth indicators.

The highlight will be a collective mindfulness and compassion-based meditation with over 800 attendees.

Sonya Sanghera, co-director of The Flame, said she has been overwhelmed at the success and support for the event.

She added: “Every year we will give people the chance to be part of a unique and rewarding experience.

“The event offers individuals a chance to transform their life with right-mindfulness-based practices.

“It is a privilege to be able to host these events, especially at such a prestigious and iconic venue like Coventry Cathedral.”

Among the speakers will be Dav Panesar, a pioneer of right-mindfulness based interventions in health and personal development with more than 20 years experience.

Right-mindfulness is a form of meditation focusing on breathing which helps people overcome depression, anxiety and stress by recognising how the constant train of thoughts can be quietened by learning to become present to their breathing.

Dav will be joined by Professor Brian Les Lancaster, of Liverpool John Moores University, and Ivana Buric, a PhD student at Coventry University.

The event will also include real life case studies sharing transformational experiences, challenges and discovering solutions.
