JLR pauses delivery of vehicles into Russia as Ukraine crisis grows

JAGUAR Land Rover has halted delivery of vehicles into Russia due to ‘trading challenges’.

The car maker, which has its headquarters in Whitley, Coventry and plants in Solihull and Castle Bromwich and its tech headquarters in Gaydon, sold almost 7,000 vehicles to Russia last year.

It comes as the conflict continues to escalate in Ukraine after Russian troops invaded the country last week.

It also comes after global corporations, including car makers, ceased doing business with Russia in recent days.

A spokesperson for JLR said: “Jaguar Land Rover’s first priority is the wellbeing of our entire workforce and their families, as well as those within our extended network.

“The current global context also present us with trading challenges so we are pausing the delivery of vehicles into the Russian market and continually monitoring the situation on behalf of our global customer base.”

The manufacturer, part of Indian company Tata Motors, has a European manufacturing facility based in Slovakia.

JLR does not have any manufacturing sites in Russia or Ukraine.
