THERE are just a few weeks left for Coventrians to enter awards designed to recognise inspirational women across Britain while raising funds for two charities including Coventry foodbank.
The fifth ladies professional development awards celebrated success stories while also raising funds and awareness for the foodbank as well as the Memory Box Foundation.
There will be 22 categories this year including ones celebrating creatives such as Outstanding Woman In Sport, Outstanding Woman In Creative Arts and The Sandra Godley Music Award.
Other awards include New Business of the Year, Excellence In STEM, Unique Business, Family Business of the Year and Woman of Courage as well as the return of the popular men’s category, Man of the Year.
Coventry TV and radio presenter and MOBO-nominated musician, Sandra Godley said: “Music, sport and creativity are all extensions of well-being and mental health and we’re reflecting that through these award categories.
“Our communities need more role models, especially for young people. The more people can see others ‘like them‘ receiving awards, the better our communities will be envisioned.
“I’m also encouraged to see many passionate women stepping out and nominating themselves.
“There is just so much talent out there to celebrate and I’m incredibly proud to be raising a diverse platform for people to shine.”
An independent judging day for finalists will take place at Coventry’s Metropolis next month before an awards night at Coombe Abbey hotel on March 23.
The closing date for entries is January 6, with finalists being selected by an independent judging panel at an event on February 7.
