Keep up-to-date with next month's timetable changes to Coventry bus services

Coventry Editorial 24th Aug, 2022 Updated: 25th Aug, 2022   0

NATIONAL Express Coventry is making changes to bus services to deal with a travel increase following the summer holidays.

The changes will come into effect from September 4 and will include revised timetable frequencies of many services.

The number 5 will run every 60 minutes along the current route to Radford, Burnaby Road with hourly extensions to Cherry Tree via Lythalls.

However, the service won’t operate between Cherry Tree and Arena Shopping Park, while a new 5B service will serve Everdon Road.

The 5A will run every half an hour to Chapelfields via Kingsbury Road.

The 5, 5A and 5B will provide a 15-minute service between the city centre and Coundon.

There will also be three school-day-only routes going to and from West Coventry Academy.

The 53 will go to and from the Academy from Spon End, while the 54 will go from the city centre and the 55 going from Allesley Park.

These three services will replace the 57, 58 and 58A buses.

However, the 7A bus will no longer go between the Belgrade Theatre and Chapelfields and the S36 will not run.

National Express Coventry Commercial Director Chris Gibbens said: “Children are going back to school in September, so roads will be busier with more people travelling.

“These latest timetable improvements will keep the region moving by enabling our buses to run reliably and get our customers to where they need to be.

“A small number of services are changing to better serve the travel patterns of our customers, as well as bringing overall improvements for everybody – at the same great price. So we’d like to remind customers to please check the latest timetables before they travel.”
