Keresley residents can quiz 'Sustainable Urban Extension' developers at meeting

RESIDENTS in Keresley can meet several housing developers which are building properties.

Keresley Parish Council has organised the Local Development and Planning Meeting from 10.15am to 12pm in the Pavilion Suite at the Hare and Hounds, Watery Lane.

Many of the developers building homes in the local area have been invited to attend to provide an update on construction.

Confirmed so far are Taylor Wimpey, Bellway Homes, Richborough Estates and LSP Development, along with representatives from Coventry City Council’s Planning Department.

The parish council hopes it will give residents the chance to put their questions directly to the housing developers.

Keresley Parish Councillor Nukey Proctor said: “The Parish Council have listened to the views of local residents and recognise this can be an emotive topic.

“As such, this event is intended to bridge the connection between the developers and local people.

“Whether you agree or disagree with the new homes, this will be a chance to hear about what is happening first hand.”

Keresley Parish Councillor Matthew Dille added: “This is the first opportunity we’ve had since the pandemic to be able to organise a face-to-face meeting bringing together housing developers, members of the public and other stakeholders in one place.

“Whilst many would prefer the Sustainable Urban Extension not to happen at all, it is progressing, so it is important for us to build relations with each developer.”

This, he added, would ensure impact was minimised on local residents and the environment during construction and during the life of the new houses
