COUNCILLOR John Blundell will become Coventry’s next Deputy Lord Mayor for 2017-18 before going on to become Lord Mayor the following year.
Born in Park Road, Coun Blundell has lived in Coventry all his life.
He went to King Henry VIII school and afterwards trained as an accountant and has been involved in a number of Coventry based businesses.
Cllr Blundell was first elected to Wainbody Ward, where he currently lives, in 2002.
He continues to represent Wainbody today as well as being the currently the Leader of the Conservative Group in Coventry.
He said: “It has been a great privilege for me to represent Wainbody ward for the last 15 years and I am looking forward to representing the city of my birth as Deputy Lord Mayor in 2017-18 and Lord Mayor in 2018-19.”
His wife, Lindsey, will act as Lady Mayoress.
