TWO women who were childhood friends have reunited at a care home in Coventry where they both now live.

Margaret Kelly and Audrey Quinn lived on the same street during their younger years and spent their childhood and teen years as friends.

The pair spent time together in the Colonel Wyley Fields in the allotments and London Road area near Charterhouse.

Together they joined the local youth club here they played snakes and ladders, hopscoth and spent the evenings dancing.

It was through the youth club both Margaret and Audrey met their future husbands Larry and Nev.

Audrey has lived at MHA Abbey Park for over a year, six weeks ago Margaret moved in and the pair were reunited.

Agnes Cameron, activities coordinator said: “Both Audrey and Margaret stayed in touch throughout all their lives, they shared memories of their marriages and family and have loads of photos with many key memories.

“Audrey and Margaret went coach trips to the memorial park, various markets and lots of days out.

“They also went on a holiday to Jersey.

“It was their family members who realised the connection when Margaret moved in and it was such a lovely story.

“They stay on different floors, but I take Audrey to see Margaret, they spend a lot of time together, holding hands and smiling.

“They light a room with their smiles, Audrey remembers more than Margaret, and it’s so nice to have them here.”
