QUICK work from police led to a suspected Coventry car thief being arrested just 13 minutes after a 999 call.
Officers were called at 10.55pm on Monday, June 26 to reports of a man trying to break into a vehicle on Tarlington Road, but just 13 minutes later a 36-year-old man from Ealing in London had been arrested.
Police spotted the man leaving the scene in a car, which they stopped and searched.
They found and recovered several power tools, gloves and a chisel in the car.
The arrested man was due to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court today (June 28) charged with two attempted thefts from motor vehicles, driving without a licence, driving while disqualified, going equipped for theft and fraudulently using a number plate.
