'Like Christmas' at Balsall Common care home as residents can finally lose their lockdown locks

‘IT FELT like Christmas’ – the words of Hayley Wilkinson, the general manager at Harper Fields care home in Balsall Common, as hairdressers returned to give them a cut and make them ‘feel like themselves again.

Everyone living there had been patiently waiting for months – like many around the country – to get their hair styled and were delighted to be able to book a cut and blow dry.

Hayley added: “It is wonderful to see them all so happy, we have really missed our hairdressers – it is fantastic to be able to welcome them back again.”

Resident Thelma added: “I can’t remember another time in my life when I had to go so long between haircuts.

“It feels so good to be back to my normal style.”

Life enrichment programmes at the home keep residents active, including a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to their interests and abilities.

New residents are being welcomed and Covid measures are in place to make it as safe as possible. Call 01676 531800 for more.
