THE WAIT was finally over for GCSE students across Coventry when they received their results and got to see if all their hard work had paid off.
Pupils discovered if they had got the grades they needed to move onto sixth-form, college, other training or employment.
Meadow Park School
STUDENTS at Meadow Park School enjoyed an ‘incredible’ GCSE results day.
Despite overall results falling nationally, Meadow Park has achieved a similar set of grades to 2019, the last GCSE exams before the pandemic.
Among the high flyers was Aarool Bhaalerao, who achieved eight 9s and Andrei Tudor who got nine grades between 9 and 7.
Julia Ziaja secured eight top grades while Isobelle McQuiggan opened her results to reveal eight impressive outcomes.
Meadow Park headteacher Bernadette Pettman said: “In light of the challenges our students have encountered in recent years, today’s results are truly exceptional.
“They stand as a testament to the incredible dedication of our students and the unwavering support provided by our compassionate staff.”
King Henry VIII school
King Henry VIII School is celebrating its best GCSE results in external exams for a decade with more than one-quarter of entries being awarded the highest possible grade 9.
In addition, 67 per cent of grades were 7-9s, while three students achieved an astonishing 11 grade 9s and three more gained ten top grades.
Music students can certainly blow their own trumpet, with more than half of them gaining a grade 9, while one-third of English students penned top-grade papers.
Headmaster Philip Dearden said: “This is an incredible achievement and our pupils have done themselves and our school proud.
“We shouldn’t forget that these pupils had their secondary education considerably disrupted by Covid and lockdowns, so it is a great testament to them, and to the pastoral care provided by our staff team, that they have been able to deliver these results regardless.”
Bablake School
Bablake School saw 64 per cent of all grades at 7 or above in this year’s GCSE results.
Twenty pupils gained at least eight 9 or 8 grades.
Headmaster Andrew Wright said: “Congratulations to all our pupils receiving their GCSE results today.
“This is the culmination of hard work and perseverance, with support from Bablake staff.
“We are proud not only of what they have achieved but the balanced and sensible approach they have shown.”
