LOOK: Video shows alleged theft of Myton Hospices charity collection box from Coventry store

A VIDEO shows what looks like a hospice charity collection box being stolen in a Coventry newsagent’s.

Myton Hospices charity is appealing for more information after a man was seen on CCTV footage appearing to steal one of its collection boxes.

The incident took place at Wallace News, Wallace Road and the video has been posted on Facebook by the charity.

The video shows a bald man with glasses, wearing shorts and a two-tone North Face puffer jacket walking into the store, grabbing a collection box and leaving the shop swiftly.




The charity responded by issuing a plea for people to share the video.

The post read: “Early this week our friends and amazing supporters from Wallace News on Wallace Road, Coventry were sadly stolen from.


“One of our collection tins that had become considerably full thanks to the generosity of our supporters over the festive season was one of the items.

“If you recognise the person below then we urge you to contact the police on 0345 113 5000 quoting the crime reference 20CV6839l/18.

“We would really appreciate it if you could share this with all of your friends and family!”
