Lots of affordable family fun in Coventry this October half-term

Coventry Editorial 21st Oct, 2022   0

THERE will be plenty of fun, budget-friendly activities in Coventry this October half-term to help families as the cost-of-living crisis continues.

Visit Coventry has been working with venues and providers in the city to come up with affordable days out.

A free explorer’s trail will start from Visit Coventry’s visitor information centre next to Coventry Railway Station, where youngsters will be asked to find the answers to ten questions while discovering the city centre.

On Wednesday, October 26 there will be a free family fun day at the Belgrade Theatre, where there will be a Halloween-themed dressing-up station with stage costumes from their productions.

There will also be arts and crafts inspired by upcoming shows including David Walliams’ Demon Dentist.

There will be free entry to the Blitz Museum in the Cathedral Ruins, while free Lego workshops will be taking place twice a day at West Orchards shopping centre.

The Wave and the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum will be hosting low-cost activities for families, with the museum allowing youngsters to make lanterns, masks and enchanted decorative jars.

There will be daily ghost tours at St Mary’s Guildhall throughout the week and Ryton Pools Country Park will be offering an evening of Halloween fun on Saturday, October 29 with a ghost train, haunted garden, spider lair and more.
