A TRAMPOLINE park has been badly damaged by a major fire overnight.

Scores of firefighters from across the region have been tackling the blaze at Red Kangaroo trampoline park in Exhall, a popular destination for children and families throughout Coventry and Warwickshire and beyond.

Red Kangaroo posted on its Facebook this morning:“Sadly due to a fire in the park last night we are closed. If you have a booking with us you will receive an email today as an update.”

Warwickshire fire and rescue said on Facebook: “At 02:15 this morning we were mobilised to School Lane in Exhall to a building fire. We were part of the attendance for “Make Punps 5”.

“At its height there were 10 fire engines from across Warwickshire and Coventry, three hydraulic platforms, a Water Carrier, Command Support Unit and numerous other specialist appliances.

“The building was well alight on the crews arrival. The Kenilworth crew were tasked to the front of the building with crews from Leamington, Rugby, Coleshill and Polesworth to establish a water supply to a hydraulic platform and to commit Breathing Apparatus wearers into the building to check for fire spread to unaffected parts of the building.

“Crews located fires which were breaking through and began efforts to extinguish them. In total eight firefighters wearing BA were used in the sector.

“Fire crew will be on site for most of the day. The Kenilworth crew returned to station just before 08:00. Some members of the crew are heading straight to their day jobs whilst the remaining crew will be attending drill this morning and be on call throughout the day.”
