Man, 29, charged with murder of woman found at home with multiple stab wounds

A MAN, 29, has been charged with the murder of a woman found stabbed at her home after being arrested in Coventry.

Suvekshya Burathoki, 32, suffered multiple stab wounds, at her home in Bartholomew Street, Leicester, after 8.30am last week (Tuesday, October 8)

Hafiz Sharifi, of no fixed address, was arrested at an address in Coventry last Thursday.

He has been remanded in custody and appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.




Police were called following a report that a woman was seriously injured.

Suvekshya, known as Fatima and from Nepal, was found inside the property. She was pronounced dead at the scene.


Two others – a 30-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman – were also arrested at an address in Coventry on suspicion of assisting an offender and have been released under investigation.
