A MAN has been arrested after a stabbing in Coventry.

The man was found with stab wounds in Gosford Green Park on Sunday (August 20).

Police were alerted to the victim suffering stab wounds being found off Binley Road just before 3.10am.

The 47-year-old remains in a serious condition in hospital.

A man, also 47, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the city centre yesterday (August 21) and remains in police custody.

Chief Insp Dave Amos from Coventry Police, said: “We want to thank everyone for their understanding and patience while we continue to work to establish exactly what happened and why.

“At this stage, we believe this was an isolated incident without cause for wider alarm in the community.

“We’ll have increased patrols in the area over the coming days in and around St Michael’s Ward to provide reassurance.”

Anyone with information should contact West Midlands Police via Live Chat on their website, or by calling 101, and quote log 517 of August 20.
