Man arrested following Bedworth shooting

A MAN has been arrested following a shooting in Bedworth on June 26.

The man was arrested in Nuneaton on Friday, June 30 on suspicion of conspiring to commit murder and released on police bail while enquiries continue.

The victim was shot when he was with two other men at around 8.15pm around Dark Lane and Smercote Close.

He was found a short time later on Smorall Lane with gunshot wounds to his chest and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Det Insp Collette O’Keefe said: “The community has been left shocked and appalled by this incident and we are continuing to prioritise this investigation.

“A strong police presence remains in the area of the incident to ensure residents feel safe.

“We are still appealing for anyone who witnessed anything, or who has CCTV or dash cam footage, to please contact us as soon as possible.”
