Man charged over alleged attempted robbery and assault at Coventry bank

A MAN has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery and assault at a bank in Coventry.

The incident took place at a Barclays Bank on Foleshill Road at around 11.10am on Friday (September 7).

A delivery driver was allegedly targeted by Panashe Chimimba, aged 23, of Tanhouse Avenue, Great Barr.

Coventry Police said on Saturday: “Panashe Chimimba was due to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court today (8 September).




“He was charged with attempted robbery, possession of an offensive weapon, aggravated vehicle taking, causing serious injury through dangerous driving, driving without insurance, making off without payment and taking a car without the owner’s consent.”
