A MAN has died after falling from the Coventry ring-road flyover.

He was found with serious injuries in the Lower Ford Street car park at around 10.30am today.

Ambulances attended but the man was pronounced dead shortly after.

Cox Street has been closed and police have warned of heavy traffic.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Police are currently on Cox Street in Coventry city centre, where a man was found with serious injuries, having fallen from a bridge into a car park just after 10.30am this morning (Tuesday 15 May).

“Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead soon after and officers are now in the process of informing his next of kin.

“The death is not thought to be suspicious.

“The road has been closed while the scene is cleared and there is likely to be heavy traffic in the city centre for a number of hours.”
