Man killed in Coventry named as woman charged with murder

THE family of a young man killed in Coventry has paid tribute to a ‘kind, loving and gentle person’ as a woman was charged with his murder.

Kieran Brown, aged 18, was taken to hospital with stab injuries on Monday night (June 1), at around 10.10pm. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he sadly later died.

He was stabbed a short time earlier on Middle Ride in the Willenhall area of the city.

A post mortem examination took place this morning (Wednesday June 3) and concluded Kieran died from a fatal stab wound.

This afternoon, Ellie Wain, aged 18, from London Road, Coventry was charged with murder. She’s due to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Thursday June 4).

Kieran’s family have released the following statement: “Our family are devastated following the murder of Kieran our son, grandson, great grandson and nephew. He was a kind, loving gentle person. Kieran’s life has been taken far too young and we are all trying to come to terms with what has happened. Kieran was always full of life and was never able to sit still for long. We would appreciate our privacy at this time.”

Detective Inspector Adam Jobson, from our homicide team, said: “My thoughts remain with Kieran’s family and friends at this very sad time.

“It’s a tragic loss of a young man’s life, we have specialist family liaison officers are supporting Kieran’s family during this extremely difficult and painful time.

“I’d continue to urge anyone who may have seen anything on Monday evening or has any information to contact us.”
