A MAN was left with shocking facial injuries after a suspected hit-and-run in Coventry.

Coventry man Mark Goodreid’s partner Elizabeth Leitch released graphic images of his injuries online.

She said the driver could have killed the father of five who has since had to have an operation after sustaining potentially life-changing injuries.

She has appealed for witnesses to the incident or the driver of what is believe to have been a white transit van to come forward.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We were called by paramedics to Wyken Croft, Walsgrave, Coventry, at 7.30pm on March 15 to reports that a man had been hit by a vehicle which then left the scene.

“The 33-year-old man was taken to hospital to be treated for facial injuries.

“It is believed he may have been clipped by a vehicle as he crossed the road.”

Elizabeth posted on Facebook on Saturday (March 16) saying: “Mark was involved in a hit-and-run yesterday on Wyken Croft Road by a white transit van.

“If anyone knows anyone with damage on their wingmirror can you please let me know as there were no witnesses.

“We need to get this guy.

“Mark now has to have a operation on his mouth and this guy has to pay. He could have killed a father of five.”
