Man who stole bike from Coventry Railway Station jailed for five-and-a-half months

A MAN has been jailed for five-and-a-half months for stealing a bike from Coventry Railway Station.

Gary Rogers, aged 43, of Bolingbroke Road, Coventry was found guilty of cycle theft and possession of live ammunition at Coventry Magistrates Court.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £187 and £135 court costs.

The court heard how on October 20, Rogers approached the caged cycle racks climbed into the cage at the car park at Coventry station.




An officer saw Rogers leaving the cage with the bike and apprehended him. Click below to see the incident on CCTV.


Investigating officer PC Ashley Lowe said: “We take all reports of crime seriously and encourage all members of the public to report incidents to us. This is also a reminder to ensure your bikes are securely locked.

“This court result shows our commitment to victims and how we continue to proactively tackle crime and catch criminals in the act.”
