FOUR men have been arrested after a botched robbery at Asda in Radford.

The group rammed a police car as they left empty handed and were later arrested after abandoning their car in Burnaby Road.

The four men, aged 27, 21, 20 and 19, had tried to rob the Jubilee Crescent store at around 10.50pm last night (Thursday).

Police said they threatened and assaulted staff and demanded money but left with nothing before driving off in an Audi A4.

They were arrested nearby on suspicion of robbery and are being questioned by officers.

DS Gareth Mitchell from Force CID in Coventry said: “Investigations are on-going and we are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area of Jubilee Crescent and Burnaby Road last night to contact police on 101.”
