Michelin star winners to headline Coventry Food Festival

Coventry Editorial 6th May, 2022   0

TOP Michelin star winning chefs Glynn Purnell and Paul Foster will be headlining a delicious programme of food based fun at Coventry Food Festival.

The weekend long festival has been organised by Coventry BID and will take place between June 17-19 in the city centre.

Renowned cook Paul Foster will headline the festival on June 17, while Purnell, who like Foster is a regular on TV shows including BBC Ones’s Saturday Kitchen, will be staging two free demonstrations the following day.

The festival will also feature a ‘Coventry Cook Off’ with local comedian ‘Funny Francis’ on Saturday and Sunday.

The cook off will give local restaurateurs the chance to show off their culinary skills and compete for a trophy in front of a live audience.

Festival compere and local food blogger Ellen Manning will be holding a series of ‘Meet the Trader’ talks where Coventry producers and food businesses will be telling their stories.

There will also be plenty of entertainment and a chance to pick up tasty treats from the food market, while music lovers will be able to party the night away on both Friday and Saturday at Music Live at the Assembly Garden.

Paul Oakenfield will headline on the Friday and Heather Small on the Saturday.

Glynn Purnell said that he’s excited to return to the food festival after previously attending in 2019.

Paul Foster added: “I’m delighted to be on board with the Coventry Food Festival. The food scene in our area is a great community and we’re always up for supporting each other, so I look forward to seeing everyone on Friday to kick off the food festival weekend.”

The festival will be running from 11am-5pm on Friday, 10am until 5pm on Saturday and 11am until; 4pm on Sunday.

Your can get into the food festival for free but you must have bought tickets for Music Live.
