POLICE in Coventry have seized more than 300 cannabis plants at two neighbouring properties which were being used to cultivate the drug.
After receiving intelligence, officers gained access to a building in Gulson Road today (Sunday) and found 134 plants.
Suspecting the building nextdoor was also being used, they raided that one and found another 183 plants.
Because of the layout of the terraced properties they also gained access to a third one in the row – there they found no plants but discovered the electrical connection and a potential fire risk.
The electricity had been bypassed as it had in the other two properties.
The force worked closely with colleagues from Western Power Distribution – responsible for electricity supply – to make the properties safe.
There could have, potentially, been fires at all three properties and fatalities.
Anyone with any information on drug-dealing or cultivation in their area should call Coventry Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
