A MOTORIST is facing court after footage of a car being driven down a Coventry cycleway was shared online.
The clip showed a blue Ford Puma being illegally driven on Binley Road on the first weekend of July.
The suspected driver has now been identified and spoken to by West Midlands Police’s Road Harm Reduction Team officers.
They have also been reported for driving without due care and attention.
Police said they are patrolling key areas to enforce speed limits.
Adam Tranter, West Midlands Cycling and Walking Commissioner, said: “In the West Midlands we are very clear that we will not tolerate behaviour that endangers vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.
“This shocking footage has rightly sparked outrage online and I’m grateful to the police for swiftly taking action.”
