A SINGLE mum has thanked a Nuneaton plumber who showed an act of kindness in her hour of need.

The mum-of-two, who does not wish to be named, was left in a state of despair after an emergency plumber left a leaking toilet not working,

She said she and her young children were left using buckets of water to flush for more than 24 hours as the emergency plumber failed to show up on two further occasions to rectify the issue.

In an act of desperation she turned to social media to see if anyone could help fix the problem.

And to her surprise Brett Knowles of BK Plumbing, who works across Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth, offered not only to make good the problem but do it for free.

She said he was at the house and had fixed the toilet in less than 24 hours after seeing the social media post.

The mum said: “I can’t thank Brett enough – I knew something wasn’t right but I wasn’t sure how I’d be able to feed my children let along pay out for another plumber to make things right.

“It’s tradespeople like Brett who need to have the spotlight shone upon them – not only for the good work they do but also how they go above and beyond to help the communities they serve.

“His kindness has really gone a long way and I’m not ashamed to admit I spent most of the day crying happy tears after he left, which was surprising given how many tears had been spilt in sadness.”
