Murder investigation launched following fatal stabbing in Coventry

A MURDER investigation is underway after a man was fatally stabbed in Coventry last night (Sunday February 22).

Police received reports of disorder outside Foleshill Library in Broad Street at around 9.40pm.

An 18-year-old man was found with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

A second man, aged 19, was found outside Dixy Chicken in Foleshill Road with several slash wounds to his hand and arm. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.




A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this devastating time.

“We understand how deeply distressing and concerning this incident is and we will have extra officers in the area over the coming days to offer reassurance to the community.


“We are reviewing CCTV and carrying out other enquiries in the area to establish the full circumstances.”
