AN INVESTIGATION has been launched by police after a man died after being seriously assaulted yesterday evening.
Officers were called to Milverton Road around 5pm following reports of disorder.
A 74-year-old man was taken to hospital but died last night.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances that led to the man’s death.
Det Insp Wes Martin from West Midlands Police CID team, said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family who are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.”
