Skatta – Cinema Ticket

SKATTA is back and wow. This Cov Grime artist extraordinaire never disappoints, and this new album is superb.

It opens with ‘Cinema Ticket’ (featuring Opaline).

There is loads to be excited about with this release, track by track it builds with its introspective story arc, the life and times of Skatta as told on the silver screen in an audio stylee. It’s compelling as it is clever musically.

The music on here is not what you might expect, transcendental flute combing with Skatta’s hard hitting rhymes creating something exciting and unique.

The new single ‘Track Of The Year’ featuring Oddisee and the accompanying video is a work of art in itself and definitely worth checking out.

It really is hard to pick a stand-out track as the whole package is dope as they say.

Special mention though for the recent single ‘Follow The Sun’ and ‘Record Box’ and ‘Cinema Ticket’.

Skatta just keeps getting better and better with each subsequent release, this is a major album in Coventry music history and so deserves your attention.

It’s also available in a selection of very collectible formats, including cassette.

Dammz

AT just 16 years old, Daniel Davies is an artist who moved from London six years ago to make Coventry his home.

Just three years ago, he began making music influenced by his mates rapping to random beats and instrumentals on YouTube.

His approach is refreshing.

He said: “It’s been nothing but fun to make music and hoping to go as far as I can with it.”

Already known around Coventry as Dammz , he added his music was relatable to his own age group.

“The last few months for me has been unexpected due to what you could say the success of my latest single ‘Rapper’ which has me excited to release my next single ‘Say So’. “As an artist and person I’ve grown and matured a lot over the years I’ve been doing music not just in terms of age but music wise too, meeting new artists, producers, managers.

“If I had to pick favourite artists I’ve worked with, it would be hard but it would probably have to be Junior NRB and Tayz.

“His single ‘Rapper’ is well worth checking out on YouTube, he really has a lot of talent.

“I feel like being from Coventry and living here for over six years having moved from London is what’s really helped me with my music as people in the city are supportive of it and always tend to tune into my music.

“People who listen to my music won’t really know much about me, they only know me as an artist and Dammz which is why I’m hoping to get a project out next year.

“It will be mainly about me, who I am, how I came up, and about the people around me and just about my daily life.

“So I’m excited for what next year holds, and what opportunities I can get.

“So, look out for my project next year.”

We certainly will, all sounds so exciting.
