Abz Winter- Red Flags

Oh wow! Abz is back and how.

Abz reckons this is her best to date and after listening I really cannot disagree.

This song is a powerhouse of a song – here we have Abz and her super controlled vocals, handling the verse like a good un’, but you already know we are on some kind of sonic journey – this is leading up to something.

Then suddenly without warning there it is at critical mass – a killer chorus full tilt maximum at the highest energy, one of the best choruses I have heard in a long time – it is atmospheric, it is glorious and it is perfect.

This has to be heard in every nightclub through the land – I hope this is the one that will define Abz career.

Paul William Gibson – Travelling Days

Well there is definitely a great crop of UK-based Country inspired artists right now.

Let me introduce Paul William Gibson, a solo singer-songwriter from Warwickshire and his new song ‘Travelling Days’.

It’s a great song, intelligently written and superbly performed, a song you just want to keep playing.

Paul writes and plays original songs with a country, folk and Americana flavour.

He released a self-produced EP of acoustic demos called ‘Homespun’ in summer 2022 and will release a new EP ‘Chasing Sunsets’ (produced by award-winning folk/roots duo Tu-Kay and Ryan) on May 26, 2023.

The release of the EP is preceded by a single ‘Travelling Days’, released on March 24.

Paul is a regular on the Warwickshire and Oxfordshire folk and acoustic scenes and regularly plays further afield.

As well as the release of the ‘Chasing Sunsets’ EP, the summer has in store several festival appearances alongside regular gigs, including:

A Taste of Spring Festival in Banbury, Kineton Music Festival in Warwickshire and SyndiFest in Leamington Spa, with more TBA

The Bonnevilles Live in Leamington Spa

Look out for The Bonnevilles Live in Leamington Spa at St Patricks Irish Club, Riverside, on Saturday, April 15, anyone who has never heard this duo, will be in for a treat – expect high power vocals and hypnotic super fuzz guitar runs and some well-crafted songs on the night.

You will not believe that just two people can make such a sound. It is a Seismic Records promotion who tell me this awesome Punk Blues duo from Lurgan are back.

If you have not witnessed one of their explosive live shows before, now is your chance.

Expect good time vibes, fuzzy guitars and shuffling beats you can rock out and dance too all with a rootsy blues groove running through its heart.

They will be showcasing tracks from their new album due to be released on US label Alive Records.

MThis was the label which launched the career of The Black Keys.

Tickets will be available on the door but will be more expensive on the night so please book online in advance.
