A LOCAL woman from Coventry turned her near death experience into a powerful message in a new book, Prayed Out! My Miraculous ICU Journey.

Iona Anderson spent 73 days at the University Hospital Coventry after an emergency stomach surgery which led to complications including sepsis, stroke, kidney failure, and a near-fatal cardiac arrest.

Iona’s family prayed for her recovers and Iona said she believes God healed her and during those desperate days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), her loved ones never gave up on her.

Iona said: “I am convinced that there is purpose in our pain, if we have the right perspective. My heart goes out to all those burdened by illness; I pray for God’s healing touch to lead them towards peace and restoration.”
