New book to detail University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS staffs pandemic experiences

Coventry Editorial 27th Dec, 2022   0

UNIVERSITY Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust has released a new book documenting the story of Covid 19 from those who worked through it.

‘Pandemic: Stories from the NHS frontline’ features 37 tales all told by UHCW staff who lived through the health crisis between 2020 and 2021.

The project was a collaboration between the Trusts research and development and health and wellbeing departments, with all proceeds going to the UHCW charity.

Staff worked with professional writers to give their unique insight into how the pandemic affected them both personally and professionally.

The accounts reflect feelings and experiences from different waves of the pandemic, although patient confidentiality has been protected throughout.

Angel Magar, Research Grant co-ordinator, said: “The result of this collaboration is an emotional rollercoaster of stories that look back on the challenges of an unprecedented time, but highlight the spirit and togetherness of UHCW colleagues.”

UHCW Charity Director, Jo O’Sullivan, added: “We wholeheartedly believe in supporting initiatives such as this that support the wellbeing of our staff, which in turn leads to improved patient care.

“Sales of this book will help UHCW Charity to continue to make things better for our teams, patients and their families for generations to come.”

The book will cost £2.99 on Kindle or £9.99 in a hardcover format.
